    Delicious dinner with an awesome friend! I asked the server if the garlic sauce for the edamame was vegan… he didn’t have to double check or ask what that meant. It wasn’t but he then rattled off which sauces were vegan and what he could do to spice up the edamame. For the entree there were some vegan selections on the menu but I asked for a recommendation and he mixed and matched things for me so I got some sort of noodles with #basil and garlic and grilled tofu and Chinese broccoli and all sorts of veggies. I wish this place was closer or that our server would work closer to me because that was amazing service! #vegan #whatveganseat #service #woknfire (at Wok n’ Fire)

    This morning I realllly didn’t feel like working out after four days off and eating and drinking way too much all weekend. But since I took four days off and ate and drank too much all weekend I figured I should do something. So I decided to make it “wear pink and do pilates” day. Since it’s all lying down pretty much I figured it was the best option for my lazy mood. I was feeling guilty about my laziness until this evening when everything started hurting! I guess those small movements even when laying down really are doing something! While I didn’t burn a million calories (or even hundreds) I still got up and got it done… which really is the hardest part of getting back on track. Tomorrow: eccentric lower (aka leg day)!

    this weekend my bestie from StL came to visit with one of our other friends that lives there and holy fun weekend!! but that meant tons of drinking and gluttonous eating. Started the weekend with chambulls, a couple of bottles of wine with dinner (hummus and pizza) and then cocktails when bar hopping. saturday woke up and kicked off the morning with brunch mimosas, biscuits & gravy, pancakes (blueberry & chocolate chip), and carrot muffins. then off to dinner at the chicago diner (poutine, shamrock shake, & reuben) followed by more drinks (chambull & cocktails) and taco pizza. then sunday funday kicked off with more mimosas (we love our bubbles) and more cocktails and brunchy food (portobello sammich and fries) and karaoke. needless to say today wasn’t very productive. lots of movies, pizza, and napping. i will say we did walk a little during our crazy weekend of insanity and all of the food was vegan so a little less bad? and friday night back at my place we were doing pull ups and bicep curls. soooo not a completely debaucherous weekend? that’s a lie. it was crazy. and awesome. it’s definitely not something i could do every weekend but for special occasions (and i mean what’s a better special occasion than a visit from a friend you only see a few times a year?!) i’ll take it!
